During 30 and 31 May 2005 in Hanoi, the Seminar on Copyright and related rights in the field of broadcasting was co-organised by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). The Seminar was aimed at providing VOV’s officers with statutory provisions and practice on copyright and related rights, especially in the field of broadcasting.

Participants of the Seminar were copyright officers, persons in charge of the Voice of Vietnam, the Vietnam Television and other broadcasting agencies of Vietnam.

At the Seminar, Mr. Le Hoai Duong – Manager of LÊ & LÊ Law Office, in cooperation with Mr. Fernand Alberto - Legal Officer of ABU clarified background knowledge on copyright and related rights in the field of broadcasting, including general principles of copyright, ownership and transfer of copyright, use of copyright works for broadcasting, copyright exceptions, performers’ rights, copyright in music rights and licenses, WIPO Treaty on broadcasters’ rights.
