Aiming at helping Vietnamese judges understand more on legal stipulations on intellectual property and improve their capacity on settling IP disputes at the Court, the Supreme People’s Court in cooperation with STAR-Vietnam held a “Training course on Intellectual Property for judges of Vietnam”. The course lasted for 04 weeks from the end of February to the end of March 2005, including 02 training weeks in Hanoi and 02 training and practising weeks at the Central Court of Trade and IP in Thailand. Majority of the participant are judges of the Supreme People’s Court, the People’s Court of cities and provinces under the Central Government. Lecturers of the course are Judges Randall R. Rader of the United States Court of Appeals For the Federal Circuit, judges of the Central Court of Thailand on Commerce and Intellectual Property, Chinese and German judges, experts of the Copyright Office of Vietnam. Mr. Le Hoai Duong was invited to give lectures at the training course in Hanoi and Thailand.
