Aiming at the effective enforcement of IPRs, pushing back counterfeiting, creating a healthy competition environment contributing for the impulse of investment and creation, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organised an Exhibition – Seminar – Fair Program on “Techniques for Combating against Counterfeits and Protecting Measures” during 05 and 11 October 2004. Officials of Science & Technology Department, Market Management Bureau, Economic Police, executives of STAR-Vietnam Project and leaders of enterprises located in Ho Chi Minh City attended the seminar.

At the seminar, Attorney Le Hoai Duong – Lê & Lê’s Managing Partner, Legal Advisor of STAR-Vietnam – spoke on “Combating Infringement of Industrial Property Rights” that provided helpful knowledge and experience on combating infringement of industrial property rights, namely: (i) definition of infringement, / counterfeiting; (ii) how to recognise the problem? (iii) a company anti-counterfeiting/anti-infringement program; (iv) anti-counterfeiting/anti-infringement measures; (v) steps of a typical anti-counterfeiting/anti-infringement case.
